Emily First Edition – Getting Close to Finished

My little Emily is getting so close to being finished! 🥹💕

She is Emily First Edition by Doris Moyers-Hornbogen, and she’s definitely getting into the final stages now. She still needs her nails painted, a little more colour/detailing here and there, and then she’ll be ready for rooting.

I keep staring at her and debating how much more colour I want to add because I’m really happy with where she is at the moment, but I do think she could take a few more subtle layers without losing that soft look. 😂 The eternal artist problem: knowing when to stop.

She’s genuinely been one of the most enjoyable silicones I’ve painted. Her silicone takes pigment so easily, and it’s been so much fun slowly watching her come to life with each layer.

And honestly, I think she might be one of the cutest babies I’ve painted. 😭 I absolutely adore this sculpt, and I keep going backwards and forwards on whether I’ll actually be able to part with her once she’s finished.

Anyway, once her painting and nails are complete, I’m currently thinking dark brown curls for her hair. I feel like they could suit her little face so well and give her that extra bit of character. 🤎

I’m currently finishing up rooting another little girl as well, so I may put Emily aside for a short while once I’m happy with her painting and work on finishing some of the other babies on my table. Then I can come back to her fresh before I start rooting her.
